"The Final Two Weeks."
Sometimes when I stop and think about the journey I about to embark on, I can't help but marvel at what has made me so want to do this. I guess I should explain: I have never been a crazy-adventurous, risk-taking kind of person. But when I think about it, leaving my home, family, friends and everything that is familiar in my life to be dropped in a completely new and foreign place is probably the most adventurous thing I could do at my age. But yet I am incredibly excited and cannot wait to be in Spain. So what's driving me? Wanting something new, I guess. Really wanting to explore a new country when I am still young so I can soak up everything. Becoming knowledgeable about another place so I can appreciate both Spanish and American cultures. Realizing all that my life here in the United States gives me. Becoming a 5th member of a family I've never met. Living for ten months in a town and country that I've never even visited. Crossing the ocean to explore the greater European history and culture. Realizing that America isn't Everything. And life is so much more than living in one place.
And when it's all said and done, being proud of myself that I did it.
